Writing the Future
David Judah has been Teaching in Pomona and the Greater Inland Empire for over a Decade.
After first accepting a Volunteer Artist Instructor position at the dA Center for the Arts in Downtown Pomona, Judah knew he could make a real impact in the field of education by bringing confidence to the students as well as bridging some educational gaps by teaching Poetry and facilitating Art and Writing Workshops. Inspiring the learning process and making real life connection to the student to strengthen the learning process.
Teaching for the dA Center for the Arts opened the opportunity to Teach for the ASES Program at Pomona Unified School District. Judah became an Art Liason and Poetry Instructor for thwas District, Teaching Poetry and Holding Schoolwide assemblies and all day break out sessions at all the Pomona Jr. and High Schools. Judah also began and reinstalled several Poetry and Creative Writing Clubs at several of the High Schools that was still meeting a decade later.
David Judah was then contracted by Professor Renford Reese of Cal Poly Pomona to instruct for a program yet to begin called the “Prison Education Program”. During 2011-2014, Judah taught at Chino Men’s Prison, Chino Women’s Prison and the California Rehabilitation Center for Men (Norco Prison). The work was expansive and rewarding.
During the time teaching for the Prison Education Project, Judah as taught at Camp Glen Rocky Dentention Of Boys in SAN Dimas. During the summer of 2012, Judah’s students opened up and told their stories many for the first time. His forty students are now Authors with thier Self Published Book “Unheard Mentality: Speak child Dentention Writes Project”.
David Judah is currently an Art Consultant for the Ontario Montclair School District, Teaching Poetry, facilitating workshops and assemblies on the fly. 2014-2021current
